I Love You A Latte

I Love You A Latte

“I read once that the ancient Egyptians had fifty words for sand, and the Eskimos had a hundred words for snow. I wish I had a thousand words for love, but all that comes to mind is the way you move against me while you sleep, and there are no words for that.” – Brian Andreas

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! As you may remember, if you read my post about Valentine’s Day last year, I’m not a big fan of the holiday. I’m always surprised and a little saddened to find just how commercialized the day has become, to the point where it’s more about spending money than anything else. The idea that money and gifts are any kind of measure of a person’s love is not one that I buy into.

That said, I still love the thought of Valentine’s Day, and the notion that we should all take a little time to say “I Love You” to the people who matter to us is definitely something I can get on board with.

So, without further ado…

I Love You A Latte

I love you.

That’s right, you. And you, and you, and you. You guys (and girls) who read my blog, who comment, who send tweets and emails and facebook messages… you make my world turn. You’re the reason I do what I do, and I would be amiss not to tell you how I feel.

With coffee.

I may not have a thousand words for love, but at least I can always find cute and dorky ways to say it, right?

I hope you’re all having a fantastic Valentine’s Day. If you’re spending it with someone you love, be extra nice to them. And if you’re not spending it with someone you love, then be extra nice to yourself. You deserve it.

I Love You A Latte

Special thanks to my friends at the Zingerman’s Coffee Company for pouring me the most beautiful latte I’ve ever seen — almost too pretty to drink! Almost.

Aww, what a pretty cup of coffee! Luxuries like that are one of the things I miss the most about city life:)

    A) Back atcha! So glad I “met” you through Rachel (Movita) and Shannon (PT)! B) I’m in awe that you can make an empty cup of coffee look so artistic and lovely! First of all, I want to steal that spoon for my prop drawer, but then that lacy rim of brown froth and the touch of magenta lipstick is just perfection! Bravo!

Heheh, thanks, Mellissa! I’m so glad I met you, too. It’s been a big year for me in terms of expanding my community of blogging friends, and I could not be more grateful! Also, that is one of my all time favorite spoons… it was actually buried in the back of my husband’s silverware droor when we first met, and I immediately confiscated it and claimed it as my own. I’m always on the lookout for more like it!

Isn’t this nice? :D – though, Willow, I do prefer espresso or an americano. Just so you know.

Haha, okay — good to know! ;)

I just realized that your move to wordpress caused me to have to re-add you to my Feedly! I was wondering why I couldn’t see your new posts on there. Make sure to let people know :) I hope you and T-Hubs had a wonderful Vday, even if it was just over a shared cup of coffee.

Thanks for letting me know, Amy! We did — we celebrated with coffees in the morning, and watching old episodes of Dr. Who and eating Jelly Babies in the evening. It was laid back and wonderful. Hope you had a happy valentine’s day, too!

Hmm, not that I know of… I did change the email schedule, though. The emails used to go out automatically every time I published a new post, now they go out once a week because I’m taking the time to write them myself. Have you gotten the ones that are a little more personal? Hopefully those are going out to everyone, but I’ll double check my list to be sure. Thanks for letting me know! :)
